Thursday night
Back from an amazing dinner at 3Sixty, a hotel with wine bar/café.
We read that it opened at 6 pm so headed down all those steps yet again,
and found the hotel right near the port.
It is exquisite. Why we’re not
staying there, I don’t know (other than the fact that it’s very expensive…) but
seriously, our room at Letonuevo is
impossibly tiny, and with absolutely NO
storage space, we are tripping over things just to move around. But, back to dinner.
The room was lovely, and we were the only customers.
(The best part about eating early!)
To start, the waiter brought out some
wonderful breads and then an olive oil “jam” (which really was slightly sweet)
and olive oil.
Both were good.

For dinner, I ordered veggie-filled spring rolls
to start, and R ordered their spicy chicken strips.
Then, for mains, I ordered their chicken,
which was amazing!!
It was sliced into
tenderloins and stuffed with prosciutto and feta and all served in a wonderful
sauce with golden raisins.
And
then there was R’s stuffed pork.

OMG!
I’ve
never, ever seen a presentation like that one.
In fact, we even took a front and back photo, as it was so amazing!
It came with shredded potato chip-like things
that were wonderful.
The pork looked
like the whole haunch from a tyrannosaurus rex; it was enormous!
Stuffed with a mango chutney and topped with
melted cheddar cheese, it was about ten inches long, three inches wide and an
inch thick.
[I don’t think I’ll need any
food for the next week. –

After
that, neither of us felt like dessert, but in what seems to be the custom in
this country, we got a dessert anyway – something that tasted to me like a
Grand Marnier-coconut dish. Not to
sweet, but very, very good. We washed
everything down with a dry red Merlot from this area. (Which is apparently difficult to get, as
this area specializes in something called The
blood of Herakles and is sweeter rather than dry.
Robert waddled (his words) back up the steps and is now
sound asleep in bed, and we still need to do photos!!

Looks like a Fred Flintstone dinner! (All the restaurants are so lovely looking).
